Sonya Miranda
Sonya has always been a free spirit who loves to travel the world. She has researched her family history for over ten years, from Virginia to Africa, in search of her roots. She believes Sarah's courage, Sarah's strength, and Sarah's will to survive were instilled in her.
Sonya's aunt, Althea Gibson Miller, attended Norfolk State University. After hearing Althea's story of meeting black people from the Caribbean and Africa, Sonya followed in Althea's footsteps and attended the Historically Black College as well.
She received her Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting from the Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia; a Master's in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland; and a Master's degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University, Clinton, IA. Sonya is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a senior level IT training consultant.
